SurfCity Catalina Deluxe Reviews 5

I purchased the guitar via their website. I fell in love with the design and then fished around on the net for some reviews. $199.00

I love this guitar, you'll have a hard time finding a thin-body acoustic electric this nice for so cheap anywhere else. It's solidly built, beautiful to look at and it sounds great plugged in. If you order online, prepare to be amazed at the personal and friendly transaction with Dave that will ensue - ask him anything you want and you'll get an honest answer. I cannot say enough about the guitar or the service - I was blown away.

had to put new strings on it almost right after I got it, they were already pretty dull - no biggie just thought i'd add that in.

Rosewood fingerboard spruce top about 3" body...just go to the website - they do a much better description.

If you're looking for a thin-body this is it...

I purchased this instrument from SurfCity direct through their website at http://surfcityinstruments.com. Selling price was $199 with free shipping and no tax to me since they are in Ca. The unique design attracted me to give it a try.

The Catalina features a body depth of less than 3" and cutaway plus 4band eq preamped pickup. It is offered in black, natural & Sunset Beach red, I opted for the red finish as it appeared tastefully done. Impressive features in addition to price(I paid $199) were too good to pass up. The Catalina offers a solid spruce top and high quality tuning machines that appear to be Gotohs. Overall, the Catalina Deluxe plays very well with excellent acoustic volume unplugged and looks great with the abalone(?) trim under the lights.

I honestly can say that I absolutely don't have any complaints about the guitar...if it was $800, I might mention the finish wasn't absolutely perfect but c'mon, this is really overkill for the $$

The Catalina Deluxe has a solid spruce top with Nato (eastern Mahogony) sides and back. The fingerboard is rosewood I believe with a two piece laminated neck lengthwise and enclosed diecast tuners. It looked pretty clean inside with spruce braces. The pickup system works great, even on my 15 watt practice amp. Two piece back with inlay separating the Mahogany. Smooth cutaway design.

I wasn't expecting as much as I got and would recommend to anyone seeking a veratile, good looking and playing axe for $200...nice folks to deal with also. Keep up the good work SurfCity...Cowabunga dudes!
